An overcast mild morning and a light wind looked great as we went to the crowning ceremony. As the crowd and pupils burst into, “See The Summer Sun Is Gleaming,” spots of rain appeared as the wind picked up. By the time Mrs Meikle went up to crown Queen Lexi and come back down off the stage the heavens had opened up.
The committee did their best to sweep the water off the stage just like the Scotland match the other week.
The presentees all carried on with their presentations as if nothing had happened with one little girl saying, “What rain?”
The procession went ahead and it didn’t stop the singing and dancing around the town, it truly is The Best Day of the Year!
